The Salvation Army believes “Giving Hope Today” to the most vulnerable people in our community is vital. Throughout the year we assist people with various emergencies including food and shelter but Christmas is our busiest season of the year.
We do not want to see anyone go without therefore we help by providing toys and food to those in need so everyone can experience the joy and hope of the Christmas Season. If you are in need of assistance for Christmas you may register for food assistance and toys for your children through one of our Community & Family Services offices. Registration is required and will be done from November 1st to November 30th, 2022 during open office hours. Click here to view locations and hours.
We also run our annual Kettle Campaign during the months of November and December. Funds raised during the Kettle Campaign are used to be able to continue providing assistance to our community not only at Christmas time but throughout the year. This campaign consists of us having red kettles at various stores throughout the community. These red kettles are manned by volunteers and a single shift is typically a two hour shift between the hours of 10am and 8pm. We now have TipTap machines at most of our red kettle locations. These machines accept debit and credit, all that is required is tapping the card on the amount that the donor would like to donate. Receipts will be issued at the donors request, this applies to cash and tap donations, cheques will be automatically receipted at the end of the year.
There are multiple ways you can participate in our Christmas campaign:
